Getting started
What is Badal?
Badal is a mobile app for smart bartering. You list what you have and what you need, and our AI finds people or businesses whose needs and haves fit yours, so you can swap without spending money.
When does Badal launch?
Soon, on iOS and Android. Join the waitlist and we will email you the day it goes live.
Is Badal free to use?
Yes. Badal is free to download and use. However, there are optional paid features, but the core experience of listing, matching and swapping stays free. Badal Courier is an optional service with a small fee, and businesses choose a subscription plan.
Where is Badal available?
Badal is designed for the Middle East and North Africa and launches across the region first, with more regions to follow.
Which languages does the app support?
Arabic and English, like this website.
What is the difference between H2H and B2B?
H2H (human to human) is for individuals swapping everyday goods, services and assets. B2B (business to business) is for companies trading surplus stock, spare capacity and services with other companies. You choose the account type when you register.
Swapping
How does the AI matching work?
Badal compares your haves and needs with everyone else’s and looks for two-way fits, where what you offer is wanted and what you want is offered. Strong matches are proposed to both sides, and you get a notification when one appears.
What can I barter?
Goods, services and assets: anything legal, safe and useful to someone else. Phones, furniture and vehicles, but also a few hours of design work, tutoring or a spare room for storage.
How is value decided?
By you. Badal does not put a price on anything and there is no field for money. Each party decides what a fair swap is worth to them. That is the whole point of bartering.
Do I have to swap one item for one item?
No. You can bundle several items in a single offer, and adjust the bundle in chat until both sides are happy.
What details should I include in a listing?
Clear photos or a short video, a title, the category, the condition, whether it is available now, how long you have used it, the brand and model, what is included, and an honest description. Better details bring better matches.
Safety and trust
Is it safe?
Every profile is verified by email and phone number, chat stays inside the app so you never share your number until you choose to, and after each completed exchange both sides rate each other. You can report or block anyone.
How do ratings work?
Once an exchange is complete, each side rates the other on reliability, accuracy of the listing and communication. Ratings are shown on profiles so reputations are earned over time.
Any tips for meeting in person?
Choose a public place, inspect the item before you swap, and report anything that does not feel right from inside the app. If you would rather not meet at all, use Badal Courier.
Badal Courier
Do I have to meet the other person?
No. Meeting in person is free and always available, but if you prefer not to, Badal Courier collects your item, delivers it to the other person and brings their item back to you for a small fee.
How does Badal Courier work?
Once you both agree on a swap, choose Badal Courier as the exchange method, pick a pickup window and address, and confirm. A courier collects from both of you and delivers both ways. Each handover is tracked and confirmed with photos.
How much does Badal Courier cost?
A small fee that is shown clearly before you confirm. There is no charge if you choose to meet in person instead. Badal Pro members get one free Courier delivery per year.
Badal Pro
What does Badal Pro include?
Badal Pro adds unlimited listings, instant AI matching, unlimited chats, wider search radius, bundling, ID verification, listing insights, one free Courier delivery a year, a monthly boost, and translation between Arabic and English.
How much does Badal Pro cost and how does the trial work?
Badal Pro is AED 74.99 a year, billed through the App Store, with a 7-day free trial. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
How do I cancel Badal Pro?
Manage or cancel your subscription any time from Settings in the app, or directly in the App Store under your Apple ID subscriptions.
What happens to my listings and needs if my subscription lapses?
You get a 16-day billing grace period to fix a failed payment before your account moves back to Badal Basic. On Basic, listings and needs beyond the free limits are paused, not deleted, until you upgrade again.
For business
Can businesses use Badal?
Yes. Business accounts let companies trade surplus inventory, idle capacity and services with other verified businesses, with a deal room for terms and signatures. See Badal for Business.
What do business plans include?
Three subscription types cover a single owner, a growing team and enterprise procurement: Starter, Growth and Enterprise. Details and pricing are announced at launch.
How are businesses verified?
With a company email, a phone number and a trade licence, checked before the account can trade.
